ICE AGES is the periods of increased glaciation.

Ice age was the popular term that referred to the recent glacial period which happened around 110,000 - 11,700 years ago.

Ice age is characterized by the long-term decrease of temperature on earth and its atmosphere. Continental and polar ice sheets,as well as, alpine glaciers expand during these periods.
