If a petal is plucked from the flower is it still alive

The cells of the petal are dying. They are still alive the second you pull it off, but after a while, because it's not attached to the plant it can no longer get energy. the flower is still alive if that is what you are asking.

The petal is dead, yeah their are cells in the petal but the cells are "living". The flower is still alive though.
