The function, y(r) =2.76r, is used to convert Russian rubles in Japanese yen, and the function, p(y)=0.16y, is used to convert Japanese yen into Mexican pesos. Use composition of functions to find the equivalent value of 2000 Russian rubles in Mexican pesos. Round the product of the decimal numbers in the composite function to the nearest hundredth.

p(y) = 0.16*y
p(y(r)) = 0.16*(y(r))
p(y(r)) = 0.16*(2.76*r)
p(y(r)) = (0.16*2.76)*r
p(y(r)) = 0.4416*r
p(y(r)) = 0.44*r

Now plug in r = 2000 to convert to pesos

p(y(r)) = 0.44*r
p(y(2000)) = 0.44*2000
p(y(2000)) = 880

Therefore, 2000 Russian rubles = 880 Mexican pesos.
