Why were the battles of Saratoga and Yorktown important?

Saratoga was important because it marked the turning point in the Revolutionary War and the battle of Yorktown was important because it aided the Contintental Army in ridding all British barracks from New Jersey. Yorktown was also the final battle of the American Revolution. Hope that helps
