A flask contains argon, helium, and fluorine gases. The partial pressures of each are 14.1 Torr, 12.2 Torr, and 8.6 Torr, respectively. What is the total pressure in the flask of Torr?

The formula used is :


p_T=p_(Ar)+p_(He)+p_(F)

where,


p_T = total pressure in the flask = ?


p_(Ar) = partial pressure of argon = 14.1 torr


p_(He) = partial pressure of helium = 12.2 torr


p_(F) = partial pressure of fluorine = 8.6 torr

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get


p_T=14.1+12.2+8.6=34.9torr
