What's the longest you should leave a tampon in?

Depending on your flow... some brands say 4 - 8 hours. When you try to remove it and it is uncomfortable it may be because the tampon hasn't reached its max absorption. Do not be alarmed. Just leave it in longer next time or get a less absorbing one.

It depends on your flow, but the maximum longest (which is SUPER risky!) is about 3-4 hours. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. Don't be embarrassed. :) I'm sure they've gotten "weirder" questions than this. I highly recommend replacing it once every 2 hours, just to be on the safe side. Although TSS is rare, it's also dangerous, so replacing a tampon regularly is the best way to prevent it.
