The phase of the weight training program in which most of the strength gains are realized is the slow progression phase. Weight training is a type of strength training in which focuses on developing the strength and size of skeletal muscles. The training program is usually divided into different stages depending on the individual involved and the their reasons for undergoing the training. Basically there are three stages; the foundation phase, the hypertrophy phase and the firming phase. The hypertrophy phase is divided into smaller units of which slow progression phase is one.
