The Brown family needs to rent a truck for their upcoming move. Express Movers will charge them $25 for the first day and $0.80 for every mile. Smith & Smith Co. will charge $35 for the first day and $0.60 for every mile. Before deciding which service to use, Mrs. Brown wants to find out how many miles would make the two choices equivalent in cost. The following represent this situation. y=4/5x+25 y=3/5x+35

Express moving: y=4/5x+25
Smith and Smith Co: y=3/5x+35

4/5x+25=3/5x+35
Subtract 25 from both sides:
4/5x=3/5x+10
Subtract 3/5x from both sides
1/5x=10
x=50

50 miles would make the two choices equivalent (65$)
