The correct answer is (A) Helps prevent cultural eutrophication

One of the main causes of cultural eutrophication is the agricultural fertilizers. The excess amount of nutrients that run off the farmers's fields get mixed into the freshwater. This excess nutrient leads to growth of algae, covering the whole water body and making it deficient of oxygen. The loss of oxygen in water causes the freshwater animals and plants to die because of oxygen deficient environment.
