They might be experiencing Post Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This is something soldiers gets after a traumatic experience from war. This causes them to have anxiety or flashbacks triggered by a traumatic event. Some symptoms can be behavioral, psychological, mood changes, and sleep loss.
