Well, the Yamasee's as seen as a group of multicultural Native Americans, were people who resided on the coasts of what now is Northern Georgia near the Savannah River, and later part of Northeastern regions of Florida.

What else the word could mean, is that 1. Yamasee is a city in SC, or 2., Yamasee is the name of a literary journal..
