If
\pi<\theta<\frac{3\pi}2, then
\cos\theta<0. By the Pythagorean theorem, we then have

\sin^2\theta+\cos^2\theta=1

\implies\cos\theta=-√(1-\sin^2\theta)

\implies\cos\theta=-\frac{2\sqrt2}3
