what is the effect on the speed of a fighter plane chasing another when it opens fire? what happens to the speed of pursued plane when it returns the fire?

The effect of shooting would create a force that would go in the opposite direction just like when a persone shoots a gun the experience "recoil" this might slow down the jet plane but because these travel at such high speeds the effect isn't visible
