What effect does suspense typically have on a reader

It keeps the reader interested in the story. It also makes them think what the outcome could be. If the book does not have suspense then the reader will likely get bored and read a different book.

( shivers down the spine)

( a contradictory urge both to continue reading or watching and to stop)

( pleasure in unspeakable things such as blood and gore)

( excitement in knowing that you are safe)
