How would the Fifteenth Amendment change southern politics?

The Fifteenth Amendment reserves all citizens' suffrage rights, regardless of race, gender, etc. This changed southern politics because most people in the south supported slavery. The Fifteenth Amendment granted previous slaves the same suffrage rights as any other person. The south was also very racist, so they did not agree with giving equal rights to African Americans.
