Do you think inmates should have to pay for their rehabilitation services? Why or why not?

No. If the state wants to lock you up the state can pay the cost. It's a good check against government power.

I do not believe that inmates should have to pay for their rehabilitation services. Inmates, naturally, have violated the law, and this is why they are imprisoned. However, their punishment is to be deprived of their liberty. Making them pay for their punishment would be too excessive, as it would add to their hardship in a way that is not justified by law. Moreover, inmates cannot work, save or get promotions, which means they would struggle to pay, or even be incapable of doing so. This would backfire upon their release, as it would make it more difficult for them to integrate to society and would encourage them to commit a crime again.
