American Romanticism reflected the life of American's by showing the people's need to separate themselves from religion. It showed that they were rebellious or willing to rebel. It showed the idea that American's wanted to express themselves and that could be seen in both writing and other artworks. For example, authors such as Jane Austen used her writing to challenge societal norms.
