What are the zeros of the function f(x)=x2−5x−24 ?

As Stephanie said, the answers would be -3 or 8.

factor the equation:

x^(2) -5x-24 = (x+3)(x-8)

set each part of the factorized equation to zero and solve for x the results are your zeros:
x+3 = 0
x = -3

x-8 = 0
x = 8
