Please double check to ensure that y ou have copied the original problem correctly. x^2-x-12 x 2 − x − 12. What do you mean by -12 x 2? Perhaps you meant -12x^2?

Just suppose that you meant -12x^2. Then your expression becomes

x^2-x-12x^2 − x − 12 and this simplifies to -11x^2-2x -12. Not easy to factor!

So, once again, please ensure that you have copied down this problem exactly as it was given in your assignment.
