What did the Supreme Court mean by "separate but equal"? Why did many people feel this idea was faulty?

Because blacks and whites at that time were not equal to each other but they were segregated between each and at the time they did not agree with each other on what the color of skins they had so what they were trying to say was that blacks should be separated from white because of their skin tones but that we are all human like as every one
