Rotation is defined as a circular movement of an object around a point or center of rotation.

Based on the given definition, a clock is definitely like a rotation. Its clock hands form a circular movement on the face of the clock around the center of the clock. That is why rotation is identified as clockwise or counterclockwise. When you say clockwise, the movement of the rotation is the same as the movement of the clock hands. When you say counterclockwise, the movement of the rotation is the opposite direction of the movement of the clock hands.
