What is the value of x in the equation 2x – 3 = 9 – 4x?

2x-3=9-4x add 4x to both sides

6x-3=9 add 3 to both sides

6x=12 divide both sides by 6

x=2

move the 4x over to the left side and get:
6x - 3 = 9

Then move the 3 over to the right....
6x = 12

Divide by 6

x = 2
