What opposition to war did president Lincoln face, and how did he deal with that opposition?

He was opposed by those who wanted slavery to still exist, and he was opposed to it by those who believed that there shouldn't be a war and that the confederate states should be allowed to secede. He dealt with it by having the emancipation proclamation and leading the civil war with the idea of preserving the unity of people.
