well known

Celebrities are people who are well known, so this best fits. While the other words fit, they do not have the correct meaning for the sentence. Mournful means sad. Apologetic means sorry. Guilty means having remorse. At no point does it seem as though a word with a negative connotation should be used in the sentence.

The answer is, well known. I figured this out by inserting each meaning into the sentence (replacing the word notorious). Also, a key word that helps you figure it out is "lifestyles".
