All we need to do it subtract 281 from 2685 and divide that number by 2 to find out how many base hits Ricky made.
2685 - 281 = 2404
2404/2 = 1202
So Ricky made 1202 base hits
To find out how many Pedro made, just add 281 to Ricky's number and you have your answer
1202 + 281 = 1483
