Here's an answer the commoners would accept: You burn more calories by running because it is harder.

The actual answer is true. At least on my lesson.

Answer:

True

Step-by-step explanation:

Running is a more exigent physical activity (compared to walking), due this is not a secret to affirm that works more in order to lose calories in a faster way, however all is a matter of distances, so if the racewalker wants to burn the same calories of determined runner, he would need to walk a major distance in order to equalize the physical effort, since the runner will lose the same calories, but in a shorter and more explosive session.

However, if time and distance is not an issue for the individual, it will definitely allow losing the same calories in one single run.
