Fats do not help you grow, however they do help your body process hormones, and they are used to convert starches because it helps your body create energy.

A healthy body needs fats because fats are nutrients that supply energy to your body and keeps the body's internal processes working at their optimal level. However, a healthy diet means eating good fats which come mainly from vegetables, nuts, seeds, and fish.

Helping you grow is not a benefit of having fats in your diet.
