How did the end of World War 1, including the treaty of Versailles, effect Germany?

The treaty of Versailles made Germany pay for the costs of the war, and it also banned them from having a strong military. Since Germany lost, their economy collapsed and they got into a depression. It wasn't until Adolf Hitler got into power when things got better.

My memory is not the best, but it caused a downfall in their economy putting them into a depression. Their supply went down and this caused low food, money, and other decreases.
