Maya’s dog has a mass of 9.4 kilograms. Eric’s dog has a mass of 9.27 kilograms. Which statement is true? A. Both dogs have the same mass. B. The mass of Maya’s dog is greater than the mass of Eric’s dog. C. The mass of Eric’s dog is greater than the mass of Maya’s dog.

Please i need help someone thats in a very high grade and not a low grade like a moderator for ambitious or higher

First you need to understand that adding zeroes to the right of a decimal or the left of a whole number does not change the value.

Maya's dog: 9.40
Eric's dog: 9.27

I can tell by looking at the numbers which one is greater, but here's a trick.

9.27 - 9.40 = -0.13
Since the answer to that equation we did was negative, that means that 9.27 is less than 9.40, we can double check this by doing:

9.40 - 9.27 = 0.13
That is a positive number, which means that 9.40 is greater.

The answer is B.
