What do the executive powers of appointing federal judges and entering into foreign treaties have in common?

As with almost everything, the senate has to approve. That is why it is rather difficult to pass anything since everything new and important has to get support from the president, the senate, and the house of representatives

What they have in common is that both actions require consent of the senate. The senate has to vote with a majority for those things to come into effect Hope this helps!
