The (x,y) point of the vertex is usually labelled as:
Vertex = (h, k)The "x" position (or "h") is calculated with this formula:
h = -b ÷ 2•aTo get “k”, input the “h” value into the equation.
h = --4 / (2*1) h = 2k = 2^2 -4*2 -5k = -9
