When speech is incorporated into the situation, we can still interpret emotions based on pitch, rhythm, and tempo. Because of these shared attributes across all cultures, music is one thing we can all agree upon and understand, making it the universal language of mankind. Music and language are inherent parts of our every-day life, they are considered as means conveying communication. Differently from a foreign language, whose system has to be understood, music can be considered as an international language understandable even without words.
