How has immigration to the U.S. been different since the early 1970’s?

I would say that immigration has drastically changed, the form of immigration has now changed more to immigrating by airplane, instead of crossing the border by foot or by car. As well as the increased laws and protection on immigration has made it more difficult for immigrates to come to the U.S.
