This is false-- Primary producers are near the base of the pyramid because they get their energy right from the sun.
I hope this helps :)

Correct answer: False

Pyramid of energy is always upright because when energy flows from one trophic level to another trophic level, some amount of energy is always lost as a heat, which is lost to the atmosphere and it never comes back.

Therefore the primary consumers get 10% of energy from the autotrophs and secondary consumers obtain 1% of energy and that of tertiary consumers get 0.1%. It shows that top consumers receive least energy.

Hence, the given statement is false.
