The scores for the mathematics portion of a standardized test are normally distributed with a mean of 514 points and a standard deviation of 117 points. What is the probability that a randomly selected student has a score of 610 points or less on the test? Use the standard normal distribution and a calculator or table to estimate the probability.

The final answer was found using a scientific calculator. To properly label all these variables would be; mean = 514, standard deviation = 117 and finally your normal random variable would be 610. With all this information we are trying to solve for the cumulative probability as it states that we need to find 610 or less. Therefore the final answer is 79.404% chance that a random student will score 610 points or less on the standardized test.
