MLK  believed all races should be equal and not separate, and Malcolm X believed they should be equal but separate. But the Civil rights act itself prohibits discrimination against any person regarding race, color, religion, origin, gender, etc... in any federally funded program. this act ends jim crow laws and segregation for good. The movement launched many other movements afterward including women's, latino, and environmental movements.
