What are the similarities and differences between colonialism and imperialism?

Both of them refer to the system of one country dominating the other. In both, the dominant country has the legislative and commercial growth over the country or region that is controlling.

The main difference is that colonialism commonly applies to a condition in which a large number of personages from the autocratic country drive to the controlled country.
