It can transfer the harmful effects of the pollutant onto all organisms in the food chain. As one organism consumes their prey, they ingest the pollutant, and so on and so forth, eventually killing the majority of the population in the pond.

The pond may cause existing organisms that eat the bacteria or use it for purposes to leave the web as required necessities are not found.
