If the recursive formula is a(n)=a(n-1)+3 and a1=2 then the explicit formula is:
a(n)=2+3(n-1) which simplifies to
a(n)=2+3n-3
a(n)=3n-1 so the first three terms are a(1), a(2), and a(3) which are:
2, 5, and 8
