What was the main concern for Portuguese explorers in Brazil?

The main reason was the following:

In 1312 the Pope Clement V ordered the extinction of the Order of Templars and condemned them.

Portugal didn’t burn or condemned Templars - King Dinis I of Portugal allowed them to stay with other name, maintaining them the same knights, the same internal rules and the same religious rites as also all of its wealth. Surviving templars came to ingress in the new Order from all Europe - The Order of Christ.
