The Federal Reserve System was started by the US Government to keep the banking power of the United States spread out among various districts. It was created in 1913 as a response of the United States to a series of financial panics. They created this system in order for the country to minimize the long-term effects of such financial crisis and prevent the country from experiencing a complete economic downfall.
