The diet of South Americans were largely based on staple food such as rice, corn (maize), and wheat. Almost always, there food consists of such food combined with animal products such as meat, fish, and dairy.

Some other food produces that they consume include tubers like potatoes, cassavas, and yams. This is because their land in that are is very conducive from crops that are growing all-year round.
