Maggie wants to buy 4 roses , 6 carnations, and 9 tulips . She estimates that she will spend about $14 on these flowers. Do you agree? Explain your answer

Well, 4 + 6 + 9 = 19, so $14 is a reasonable answer. If we have $19 assuming that each flower costs $1, then if the estimate is $14, that means that each flower is less than $1, which makes sense. Assuming that all of the flowers cost the same, then each flower would be about 74 cents. This would make sense considering that you are buying tulips, roses, and carnations.
