minus 4 both sides

√(x+2)=2
square both sides

x+2=4
minus 2
x=2

Now on squaring both side of the equation we get:

Hence, we get a solution as x=2.

Hence, on putting x=2 in equation (1) we obtain:


√(2+2)+4=6\\\\√(4)+4=6\\\\2+4=6\\\\6=6

Hence, x=2 is a true solution.
