India's military intervention in favor of Bangladesh against Pakistan was caused by a national interest and a religious decision. India helped Bangladesh because of its geographical position between the countries. It is inevitable for India to be unaffected by the situation, so it had to intervene in the war. Bangladesh being a struggling country for its self-determination having both Muslim and Hindu minority population is a factor that India had considered for their military support.
