It has been known widely that segregation really took place in different American states. During this time, slavery was rampant just like in South Carolina.

In this period, slavery was so grand in South Carolina, and its culture and economy were primarily based on plantation. Usually the slaves were worked almost to death, and men were forces to work alongside with women.
