Answer: C. The father is angrier and more impatient with Gregor.

As the novel The Metamorphosis progresses, Gregor's father goes through a metamorphosis of is own. Forced to get a job, he is now proud of what he has accomplished. He is well-dressed, stands straighter, cares about his appearance and has a new sense of independence. Sadly, this just means that Gregor is not considered necessary anymore, and in fact, has become an enormous burden. This makes his father angrier and more impatient with Gregor.
