Cinco de Mayo began as a commemorative day that Mexicans celebrated the victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Over time, however, Cinco de Mayo is a day in which Mexicans celebrate their culture with fiestas that feature traditional food, music, and fellowship. Mexicans carry this celebration with them wherever they settle whether it be in the USA or Europe.
