In general, the countries in Europe tend to have negative reaction towards the genetically modified food.

The GMO's are not allowed for production, trade, or selling in most of the European countries, and the reasons for this are multiple:

- Europe is a continent that has very nice conditions for production of large variety of food, so there isn't any real need for usage of GMO's.

- The general public is well informed about the negative health consequences from the usage of the GMO's.

- The European populations has a long tradition of consuming natural and healthy food, so the idea of using genetically modified food is not seen fondly at all.
