The correct answer should be D. a rise in the number of terrorist activities. There was no global market since everyone was usually poor if they were from the eastern bloc. There was a rising number of terrorist activities because there were many groups that claimed to have the right to have their own country and sometimes they were even religious fundamentalists who stopped at nothing. This often caused warfare, both civil and global.
